Noah Hutchinson is Dallas-based foodie, writer, and student studying marketing, advertising, and public relations at the University of North Texas. You can find his work on Spoon University, recently sold to Discovery Inc, an online food and lifestyle publication for young people, where he has written 23 pieces with over 120,000 page views and featured on Teen Vogue, MSN, Yahoo, Bing, Kitchn, and INSIDER. In addition to creating content for Spoon, Noah served as the Editorial Director and President of the UNT chapter from August 2018 to October 2019 where he oversaw and edited the entirety of the chapter’s publication. Noah has also written articles for the studen-run newspaper The North Texas Daily under the opinionated column “The Dose” where he focused on restaurant reviews, product comparisons, and other food-related news.
Aside from Noah’s writing experience, he is very involved on the North Texas campus. Serving on the Student Government Association Executive Board as Communications Director, Noah is in charge of internal, media, and public relations, marketing and promotional materials, and digital communications including the association’s social media and website. As Communications Director, Noah has helped lead the charge in various campus-wide events including the Denton Climate Strike and the Sit-In at the Fall 2019 Board of Regents meeting demanding for a more equitable and inclusive campus helping gain the media attention from over 15 local and national news outlets. This increase in student activism has lead Noah to be selected as a speaker for the 2020 SXSW EDU Conference talking about Generation Z’s higher standards for higher education and how digital activism has restructured the generation’s role in civic engagement. In his previous role as an Intern for the Student Government Association, Noah began his work on the Communications Team in 2018, helping launch the “Humans of SGA” campaign by publishing monthly articles about the struggles, victories, and stories of the people of SGA.
Additional involvement includes: UNT Ad Club Event Coordinator, National Student Advertising Competition UNT Ad Team Account Strategist, Mayborn School of Journalism Student Council Representative, Undergraduate Student Innovation Advisory Board, Social Media Managers Committee, Free Speech and Public Assembly Policy Committee Student Representative, the Dallas Area Alliance for Women in Media, and a member of the Vine Network for the Gen-Z focused marketing firm, JUV Consulting.
Noah’s first experience in the marketing field began at People’s Revolt, a start-up public relations and social marketing firm aimed at creating a platform for creatives. As the Marketing Coordinator, he oversaw and managed the company-wide social media and digital strategy teams. Additionally, Noah was the Managing Editor for Uproar, People’s Revolt’s newest passion project in the form of a blog. Noah began his journey with People’s Revolt in January of 2019 as part of the first class of Interns in the company’s history.
When he’s not leading an organization meeting, writing about all things food, or researching the hottest new social media trends, Noah likes to spend his time exploring new restaurants where he keeps all his foodie friends updated on his ‘food-stagram’ and gets inspiration for his blog “Eats By Noah.”
